New Start in Northern Germany

At the beginning of November, it was finally time for our team, the horses, and several lorries full of equipment to move up to the north of Germany to begin our partnership with Christian Hess in Heidmühlen. Within several weeks, the big move was completed and everyone warmly welcomed by Christian, his team, and the Meerpahl Family. October Festival Strzegom

The 2017 season has found it’s happy ending at the October Festival in Strzegom last weekend. In the CCI* Ben and Avatar improved from 11th place after dressage to a final 3rd out of 60 combinations. They completed on their dressage score of 40.6 with a really good double clear. This was the third top 10 placing out of only four runs for this 7-yr old Trakehner and we look forward to see him improving further in the future. Good results in Waregem

A CIC*, CIC** and CIC*** kept the team busy during last weekends Waregem International Horse Trials. In the CIC*, Clever Louis and Cancun came 3rd and 4th with both horses storming clear across country. Whilst Cancun started on a dressage score of 41.2 but had to add one pole in the jumping, lever Louis produced another lovely double clear with nothing to add to his dressage score of 45.8. Two times 1st for Ben in Strzegom

A super successful weekend for Ben in Strzegom as he took home the victory in both the CIC*YH and the CIC**. In the CIC* for Young Horses it was Cassero who took home the title on a dressage score of 42.4 and a lovely double clear with nothing more to add to his dressage score. In the CIC** BGS Urlanmore Prince produced a nice test of 47 and a strong double clear to claim 1st place in this class. Him and Ben will now head for their 3* debut in Waregem in a couple of weeks time.

Langenhagen CIC*/**

Langenhagen was destination for Sabrina and Ben to compete in the CIC* and **. Heavy showers during the first two days of competition provided testing conditions for the young horses but they all coped well and produced pleasant results. Clever Louis came a nice 7th in the CIC** with a dressage score of 45.5, clear jumping and only a few time penalties across country. Also BGS Urlanmore Prince are home with a rosette in this class after delivering a 46 dressage, clear jumping and going steady across country. Helvoirt and Waitzrodt

Two events in two countries kept the team busy this weekend with Helvoirt in Holland being the destination for Dirk and Ben whilst Sabrina took two rides to Gut Waitzrodt. The CIC* in Helvoirt saw Clever Louis and Cancun confirming their good performance from the previous weekend with both horses delivering a super double clear to come 6th and 7th on their dressage scores of 46.5 and 47.3. Hamm Rhynern

After two weekends without competition and a cancelled event in Bad Harzburg, the team got rolling again with both the young and 1* horses at Hamm Rhynern last weekend. On Saturday Sabrina placed her two rides Cicero and Caramio in second and third position in the pre-novice class. On Sunday, all horses performed well in the CIC* with Ben and Avatar coming 2nd, Dirk and Cancun in 3rd and Ben’s second ride Clever Louis in 5th. CIC* and YH in Huenxe

Last weekend’s event in Huenxe kept the team busy with starts in the CIC* as well as the Young Horse Classes. After coming 4th at Maarsbergen, Quick Decision produced yet another good result by finishing 3rd in the CIC* on a dressage score of 48.6, 0.8 time faults across country and a nice clear jumping. New ride Caramio also did well in his first ever 1* by coming 11th on a 51 dressage, a super clear cross country and only one pole in the jumping. First places in Maarsbergen and Gahlen

We are almost half way through the 2017 season already and the horses continue to give us a really good time by performing at their best. Last weekend four of our horses competed at Maarsbergen to run their first CCI*/**. ATC’s Cancun was the star of the day winning the CCI* on his dressage score of 49.6. In the same section Quick Decision finished in 4th on 52.6. Hop and Skip affiliated in Hall of Fame

A great honour was awarded to Hop and Skip and his long time owner Freya Rethmeier during the International Three Day Event at Luhmuhlen last weekend: The International Event Rider Association (IERA) affiliated Hop and Skip into the Hall of Fame. Traditionally, one horse and one rider are nominated for the German Hall of Fame in Luhmuhlen each year. In 2017, Hop and Skip and former German Olympic Bronze Medallist Harry Klugmann.
