Royal Jump CIC**

‘Royal Rump’, a beautiful and brand new competition in France, was destination for Dirk and Freya Rethmeier’s two horses Catelan and Unteam de la Cense last weekend to compete in the CIC**.

Held at the magnificent Château de Bertichères, in the town of Chaumont en Vexin, this brand new event offered jumping competitions in addition to the CCI*/CIC** eventing competitions, who’s cross country course was designed around a magnificent golf course on a naturally undulating field and an exceptional ground.

Unteam de la Cense delivered a reasonable dressage to score 41.8, which took him into a good 7th after the first phase. One of very few lovely clear rounds in the jumping raised him up into third position before facing a stunning yet very challenging cross country on the final day. Clear but with 10.4 time faults were a great result for him and so was the final overall 5th position.

Catelan did even a little bit better in the dressage to score 41.1 and come out 5th, followed by a very nice lovely clear jumping, which put him into second position before the cross. Just like Tim he made quite an impression in this tough course to come home clear with time faults and finish in a pleasing 15th position overall.

Very many thanks to Frank Zaganelli for these great shots.
