One fun and super-well organised show follows the next with Badminton, Marbach and Everswinkel coming one after another at this time of the year.
Seven of our horses competed in the CIC* and CIC** at Ponyhof Georgenbruch and all came home with a rosette.
In the CIC*, Ben and Quick Decision had another go after their small mistake in Marbach. This time all went to plan and they rewarded themselves with a lovely 7th out of 52 after a 52.5 dressage, a nice clear across country and only one pole in the jumping. Ben’s second ride, Clever Louis, also came a good 12th following a dressage of 54.2, clear and fast cross country and just a couple of time penalties in the jumping.
Dirk’s new ride Avatar, a 7yr old gelding previously ridden by Slovenian Miriam Bray, did a lovely job too by coming 9th on a dressage of 42.3, a steady but clear cross country and one down in the jumping.
Sabrina completed the good results in the 1* by giving the 7yr old ATC’s Cancun a good boost of confidence in his second ever CIC*. A 47.4 dressage, a clear cross country with a few time faults and a clear jumping took them into 10th position, making it two out of two 1* placings for this so promising grey Hanoverian gelding.
The good work continued in the CIC** with Dirk and Unteam de la Cense producing the best result by finishing 4th on a 50.6 dressage and a nice double clear with just a few time faults across country to be added to their final score. Lovely to see how far this horse has come within one year of partnership with Dirk already.
The next in line were Sabrina and her own Flick Flack coming fifth on 50.8 dressage, a few time faults across country and a nice clear jumping. The pair will now aim for their first 3* in a couple of weeks time.
Last not least Catelan brought home his first CIC** rosette after completing 13th on a dressage of 46.7, a steady cross country and only one silly pole in the final jumping.
We could not be more pleased with how our up and coming horses have performed so far this year. A massive thank you goes to the entire Schulze Zurmussen family for hosting such a lovely and well organised show, making it all possible despite masses of rain on Friday.
Thank you also to Karin Averbeck for the great pictures.
