Despite the long travel, the CIC* and CIC** at Kreuth are always worth the trip in order to give the horses a very good run across country at the beginning of the season.
In the CIC*, Navarino did a lovely double clear to come 3rd on his dressage score of 41.7. Mr Tomtom scored 47.6 in the dressage and went just as well across country and in the jumping to add nothing but 1.2 time faults to his dressage and come 7th.
Sevenoaks got a little too excited in the dressage and scored 52.3. Since there was no need to push him for the time across country he went for a steady but very good training round and came home clear, though with a number of time faults. In the jumping he did not touch a pole and finished with a lovely clear.
Arina started with a lovely score of 43.2. in the dressage. Across country she did just as well and could not be blamed for the 20 penalties we picked up for the stride I completely missed at one combination early on the course. Last not least she jumped a lovely clear in the jumping to prove that the score on the result sheet sometimes just not reflect the real achievement.
In the CIC** Hop and Skip and Prince did reasonable tests, though both not at their best yet. Across country, they felt food perfect and galloped fresh and fit over the hilly course. Both did a steady round as planned and after trotting up well in the morning they got the rest of the day off and were withdrawn before the jumping.
In the middle of next week, the lorry will head off into the same direction again, this time for the CIC* and CIC** at Felix’s home turf in Radolfzell.
