At our last event for this season, the CCI*** in Boekelo, it was Boleybawn Prince’s turn to round up what has been a good year so far. The relaxed bay brought home some very good results this season and produced yet another good one with three good rounds at his first 3*.
A dressage score of 51.7 was not quite what we were aiming for but he tried hard and gave me a nice ride. Similar to previous years Boekelo had had quite a bit of rain over the past few weeks which made the ground very wet and the optimum time harder to reach. Prince did a lovely clear round, gave me a really good and easy feeling all the way round and seemed to have a very good time himself at his fist 3* round. On Sunday he had one pole down but jumped fresh and careful and climbed 10 places up the leader board to finish on a reasonable 27th place. All in all he gave me a really nice ride in all three phases to make sure we had a fun and easy time.
Our 2014 season is now over. The horses both young and old tried very hard through out the year and showed very nice and promising improvements. All younger ones successfully stepped up one class and produced some very good results especially at the last few outings. Baxter is enjoying his so well deserved winter holiday after WEG at the moment with long turnouts, hacks and all those things that keep him happy.
The younger ones will have their deserved brake now too before we will get them back into work and make new plans for them for the next season.
